KLSNS Challenge #19

This weeks challenge for KLSNS is a wonderful sketch by our great DT member Risa. I used a great stamp from the KL store, Lucy and Kitty, it is a Sara Kay and is so sweet. I wanted to use some of my Basic Grey paper and this pink just stood out. I also wanted to use my new sewing machine so this is my first try with stitching on paper.

Please come over to the KLSNS brog and join us with this weeks sketch. This week we have a prize for the winner, but best of all it's fun. You will have until midnight on Friday, March, 5th to enter.

Stamps: Lucy and Kitty
Paper: SU Kiwi Kiss, DP Basic Gray
Embellishments: pink gems
Copics: E00, E25, E47, N1, B91, B93, G82, RV10, R85, RV34

KLSNS Challenge #18 - Go Green!

Well, it is time for another great Challenge over at KLSNS. This week is a "Go Green" recycle theme. Use what you have. In this challenge I used a few scrap papers to cut out Hearts and to stamp my image on. This image is so cute, it is from KL stores and is a C.C. Design, Shy Kiki. I also wanted to use the newspaper. I have a whole bag ready to put out to recycle so I swiped a couple of pages. I stared with a strip and tried to fold and tar it but I didn't like the effect, I may have to try that again sometime, but I ended up seeing the answers to the suduko and crossword puzzles and thought that would be fun. I also used hearts that I had cut out to give to someone and forgot and buttons off an old shirt.

I hope you come over to KLSNS this week and join in on the Challenge. You will have until Friday, February, 26 at midnight to enter. I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with for recycled materials.

Materials:
Stamps: Shy Kiki, Micheal's Love
Papers: SU Black, Pretty in Pink
Embellishments: Buttons
Copics: E00, Y21, YR23, RV10, RV34, N3, N5, N7

Thanks,
Kathy

KlSNS Challenge #17 Color - Red, Black & White

Hi everyone,
This week the KL Challenge was organized by me. I chose a Color challenge because it is Valentine's week and I couldn't resist the Red, Black and white colors.
I chose not to do the traditional Valentine though but I still love the color combination and don't think to use it unless it is around Valentine's day.

As I am writing this I am hurting a bit. As you all know there has been so not so great weather in this area and on my way into work today...I "biffed it" Yes, I fell. I am fine, just a bit sore tonight so I am going to make this shot.

Kelly Also has her new store site up and running so make sure to check it out. Here is a link to it.

I hope you will all come over to KLSNS and join in the challenge. I will be fun. You have till Friday, Feb. 19th at midnight and The top 3 will get a great "Blinkie" so that you can show off your great work.

Materials:
Stamps: Troubled Travis, HH, Kraftin' Kimmie
Paper: MME, SU Black, Real Red
Embellishments: Brad, Eylets, Nesties, Cuttlebug

Copics: N1, N3, N5, N7, R29, R02

Thanks,
Kathy

KLSNS Challenge #16 Paper Tole Technique

Hi everyone, It is time for the next KLSNS Challenge. This week the Challenge is Paper Tole Technique. If you are confused, you are not alone. I was not quite sure what that was either. Here is the discription that I got: A duplicate of an image is stamped on a different paper, colored and carefully cut out. This duplicate is then mounted on top of the original with foam mounts, causing it to be raised (3D) and enhancing the natural shape. This is not simply paper piecing... it's popping parts of the image up higher.

Come and join us this week. I would love to see what you come up with. You will have till 2/13/10 at midnight to enter.

NEXT WEEK I WILL BE HOSTING THE CHALLENGE! MAKE SURE TO COME BACK AND JOIN IN.

Simple enough. I think. I have done similar techniques and not known what it was called.
This week I used my new stamp Coffee Kiki. You can purchase it over at KL Store. I had many options for color but I am into the pink and red kick being we are coming close to Valentine's day and the color is just in my head. I hope you like it

Materials:
Stamps: Coffee Kiki, Kraftin' Kimmie
Paper: SU- Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Basic Gray
Embellishments: Glitter pearls, Heart (KL Stores Buttons)
Copics: E00, Rv34, YG15, N1, E25, E47

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge-Aperture

This week I had a tough time getting challenges done. I think it had something to do with the book I have been reading.....lol

I did however, manage to get this one done. It just so happens that I was working on this one for a Birthday for a friend and all I needed to do was to finish it.

I used the great image from Kraftin' Kimmie, Piper and a great tri-fold that I found a tutorial for.
I love the fold but it made me want to go out and buy the Scor-pal. I am now looking into it.

Materials:
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie, Piper, Lizzie Anne
Papers: Black, SU Not Quite Navy, SU-dp
Embellishments: MS punches, Stickles, Ribbon
Copics: E00, E25, E47, BG72, E31, E55, E53, N1
